Natural igneous stone, very hard and heat resistant. Re-seal once or twice a year.
Engineered stone, over 90% natural quartz with resins. No sealing needed. Use trivets, it is not heat resistant like granite.
Natural stone with marble looks. Mohs 7, does not etch from kitchen acids like lemon or vinegar. Porosity varies by stone.
Natural metamorphic stone, softer than granite. Etches from acids and needs periodic sealing; loved for baths, fireplaces and baking.
